Nvidia has surprised with a tempting price reduction for the RTX 2060

The decision came just days after the introduction of the GeForce RTX 2060 KO series of EVGA graphics cards, starting at USD 279.99.

Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2060 was introduced last year at CES 2019 at a starting price of USD 349.99. Since then, the graphics card has received a new series called SUPER, which has replaced the normal models, but the ‘normal’ RTX2060 models are still in Nvidia’s inventory.

Now Nvidia has officially lowered the price of its main offer to USD 299.99. The RTX 2060 contains the Nvidia Turing TU106 GPU with 1920 CUDA cores, 120 TMU and 48 ROP. The chip combines with 6 GB GDDR6 memory at 14.00 Gbps and delivers 336 GB/s bandwidth over its 192-bit interface. The card has a TDP of 160W.

With a price of $299 the RTX 2060 would offer a much better price-performance ratio than the current RX 5600 XT, although it is $20 more expensive than AMD’s navigation-based offering. AMD has shown that the RX 5600 XT is up to 15% faster than a GTX 1660 SUPER and 20% faster than a GTX 1660 Ti.

Certainly, Nvidia’s option with the RTX 2060 looks much more tempting than that of the RX 5600 XT, so AMD should respond quickly. We’ll keep you up to date.
