New GPU’s, Nvidia GV102 and GV104. Nvidia masters its communication very well, little information penetrates directly into future new architectures, but the partners are rather more intrusive. For example, Lenovo recently provided some crisp information and today it’s HWInfo’s turn to be very intrusive, with its latest update the software has identified two new Nvidia GPUs.
It seems almost certain that the next generation will be called GTX 11xx, with a likely introduction of the GTX 1180 first, followed by the GTX 1170 and 1160, but the architecture used for this new generation remains mysterious, speculation seems to be running well, conjuring up the Turing architecture or an update of the Pascal architecture in conjunction with a new GDDR6 memory standard, but nothing is confirmed.
Exactly here the information of HWInfo is valuable because the two new GPUs are GV102 and GV104, which refer directly to the Volta architecture. This architecture was initially reserved for the professional world, but one can imagine a revision of this architecture, certainly without the hearts of Tensor, for the general public.
We look forward to learning more.
