Are you waiting for Intel Comet Lake-S processors? There are more and more alarming reports on the Internet about high temperatures of new chips. Unfortunately, it is expected that the problem will also affect ordinary models without overclocking function.
The problems with the high temperatures of Intel Core 10th Gen processors are probably caused by the high power consumption – the first reports on this topic came from motherboard manufacturers. Recently, similar information was confirmed by Chinese journalists in Core i5-10600K tests.
10-core processors from Intel need good cooling
The high power consumption should also be applied to non-clogged models. This is confirmed by leaks in the Chinese Weibo forum, where a user published tests of the Core i9-10900F model (10-core/20-core model without enabled multiplier and without integrated graphics).
The tested model heated up to over 90 degrees Celsius. However, it is not known what kind of cooling system it was equipped with.
According to the measured values of the HWiNFO application, the standard power limit (PL1) here was 170 W, and the limit for Turbo (PL2) was already at 224 W. It can be seen that the TDP coefficient of 65 W has no real power consumption.
However, we are concerned about something else. The point is that the power consumption is similar to the amount of heat generated, so a good cooler must be used to cool the new system (probably not without water cooling).
When will Intel Comet Lake processors be on the market?
According to unofficial information, the new generation of Intel processors is expected to be introduced at the end of this month (we will probably have to wait until May for the official release). So it looks like it will be an extremely hot premiere.
