MSI Tomahawk Z90 MAG and MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus Filtered

Two MSI motherboards with the Intel Z390 chipset filtered as the successor to the current Z370 with some improvements in the connectivity level, that turned out to be the best. The new disks arrive within the MAG and MPG nomenclature, which represents the mid-range segment.

This nomenclature should be extended to other products, as we saw with the brand’s first monitors that integrated the MAG series. The first of the two filtered motherboards is the MSI Tomahawk Z90 MAG, which features built-in I/O shielding, highly configurable RGB lighting, and a cooler in one of the M.2 ports to prevent overheating of the SSD positioned in that port.

Second, we have the MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Plus motherboard, which comes in a design similar to the current Z370 models, but with a big difference in the board, which is executed in black and red to improve aesthetics of the player. This model has a big break in the SATA ports, which looks like it will become a trend among the major manufacturers.

Both motherboards seem to have a well cooled 9-phase VRM, four DDR4 RAM module slots, and a steel-reinforced PCI Express 3.0 x 16 slot to easily support the weight of the heaviest and most powerful cards on the market. These new motherboards should be officially introduced in the coming weeks along with the ninth generation Intel Whiskey Lake processors.
