For many, size and noise are two important criteria when to pick up a computer, and MSIs coming Cubi model makes it quite so good on both of these points. Not only gaming notebook at Computex 2017, MSI has also introduced its latest generation of MiniPC. MSI Cubi 3 is fanless computer.
But that one comes with Intel Core (Kaby Lake-U). And support for Intel SSD Optane. It will be available this fall of 2017. All right, so it’s no problem to find an even smaller PC. But with Cubi 3 you also get more powers after enough liquid. Here are we talking about an Intel Kaby Lake processor, which despite a TDP of only 15 watts simply is no slow down.

MSI CUBI 3 is a small desktop computer with brushed aluminum frame. And its design is fanless. So there is no fan so, this saves energy and ensure maximum silence even with particularly heavy workloads. It is the first Mini PC with passive cooling. But is the first MSI cubes with fanless having power consumption of 15W with Intel Kaby Lake-U processors. Because the previous generations were equipped with Intel Braswell low-power chips. And this one is special.

The Mini PC only has a grid of circuits, hidden under the ventilation cover that runs around the entire perimeter. So this is for the hot air escape. While inside we find processors Intel Core i3-7100U, Core i5-7200U or Core i7-7600U (Kaby Lake) with 620 Intel HD integrated graphics, two SoDIMM DDR4 memory slots for up to 32GB, stayed for a drive (HDD or SSD) 2.5 “ and a slot M.2 2280 for solid state memory. But according to what is revealed by MSI it will also integrate with Intel Optane memory. Also the platform will allow trouble-free video playback for 4K Ultra HD. But do not forget that the selected processor intend for notebook so will never achieve the performance expected from a desktop.
All in all, MSI Cubi 3 is very easy to handle. Even if it seems a bit ‘bigger than other models in the family, it probably allow for better air circulation inside, but due to its size we will find a very rich interface kit: DisplayPort , HDMI , six USB ports (4 USB 3.0), two Ethernet, two COM ports (one to COM RJ-45), and an audio jack. The WiFi and Bluetooth modules are positioned on the sides with their antennas in the vicinity of a zone, which prevents the shield.
MSI Cubi 3 can fix under a desk or behind a monitor. Also thanks to the VESA support in MSI CUBI 3. And removing the four screws on the bottom, allows an easy upgrade of memory and storage in MSI CUBI 3. The Mini PC should be launched on the market next fall , so around October-November. But the price not announced.
The small computer will otherwise also get a special edition intended for businesses and shops. It is product that we have found on display at Computex 2017.
