Mozilla continues its mission to make Firefox the best browser available today, and last year it showed the effectiveness of Firefox Quantum on Google Chrome, and this time it has launched a new product focused on virtual and augmented reality, which is once again ahead of Chrome, Edge and the Oculus browser.
Mozilla will release Firefox Reality for VR
The new version of Mozilla’s Firefox browser has just been released. This time, however, it is a program not for personal computers, but for virtual reality goggles. The new addition is called Firefox Reality and is supposed to be a multi-platform browser developed within the framework of open software.
Now the new version of Firefox is the Firefox Reality. Its primary task, however, is not to enable surfing the Internet on a laptop or personal computer, but to take place in various goggles for virtual reality. With the HTC Vive Focus, an early demo is already working. However, for the time being, the browser is not yet available to the public.
For now, Mozilla has not specified which headsets will support Firefox Reality. But it will almost certainly cover the two most popular kits on the market, namely Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The new autonomous versions of these headsets are likely to enjoy the same support.
You can apparently browse through the pages and scroll through the content using the motion controller. But the only problems are hitting the small buttons. Firefox Reality will of course not be the first browser for VR systems, but it is always a product of the same quality as a regular Firefox.
