Enhancia is the name of the company that, from France, has been working on the concept of a MIDI ring. That will reach Kickstarter in March. We just have to use it to activate musical effects as pitch variations, for example, making specific movements while playing the keyboard.
MIDI ring is a ring that effects sound with its movement
The ring is made of plastic and metal, and communicates with a hub that is connected to the computer. The system loads the ring and tells you what effects should be assigned to which movements. And has an add-on that can be used with a digital audio workstation, such as Ableton or Logic.
The ring sensors track three specific movements of the hand that is assigned to particular effects by default. But everything can be customized. In the video it is possible to see the result:
Enhancia wants musicians to be able to play their keyboard as they usually would. And for that, they have thought about the possibility of receiving movements of various types so that it is more natural for their user.
The final version will be wireless, but we will only see it in March 2018 for a price that has not yet been disclosed. Unfortunately, there is still a lot to see in the market, as he first has to overcome the Kickstarter campaign.
