MatePad Pro, high-end tablet to deliver powerful productivity and entertainment

With a pure and minimalist design that is meant to impress, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro combines a large screen with extremely narrow bezels to achieve the world’s maximum screen to body ratio of 90%.

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro is powered by the proprietary Kirin 990 7 nm processor and offers exceptional performance and battery life. When operated with EMUI10 the HUAWEI MatePad Pro supports Multi-Window, Multi-Screen Collaboration and HUAWEI APP Multiplier. It also supports the HUAWEI M-Pencil and Smart Magnetic Keyboard, which promotes synergy with PC mode and new WPS features for maximum productivity.

But that’s not all, the entertainment experience is enhanced with a series of hardware upgrades that include immersive audio and display capabilities in an elegant format. In addition, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro Series is also the world’s first tablet to support wireless charging and wireless reverse charging.

Simplicity and elegance

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro has a unique design that combines technology with style. It has the world’s highest ratio of the case to screen at 90%, with ultra-thin 4.9mm frames surrounding the 10.8-inch screen.

The micro-curved design of the HUAWEI MatePad Pro ensures a comfortable grip, while the magnesium alloy frame keeps the tablet light but durable. It uses a unibody design where the antennas are embedded in the central frame and the back panel for a clean and minimalist appearance.

Inside the slim tray are five stereo microphones as well as a large four-channel amplifier and four speakers. The four microphones are arranged in a row and the fifth is located near the rear camera, allowing the tray to pick up sound from up to five metres away. Harman Kardon’s tuned four-channel speakers provide an impressive sound experience.

Enhanced performance

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro is not only distinguished by its iconic look, but also has an excellent chipset. This tablet offers up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB memory and is equipped with the Kirin 990 chipset. The same processor as the Huawei P40 Pro.

As the latest processor, the Kirin 990 features 7nm processing technology, the most advanced in the industry, which offers good performance and energy efficiency. As for the CPU, the Kirin 990 has an octa core, three levels of energy efficiency and a main frequency of up to 2.86 GHz. In terms of GPU, the Kirin 990 Mali-G76 uses 16-core GPU clusters, which provide better graphics processing performance and energy efficiency than its predecessor, effectively solving inconsistency problems in smoothing, warming up and framing for graphics-intensive gaming and HD video playback.

As for the NPU aspect, the Kirin 990 also uses the Da Vinci NPU architecture, once again leading the way in the development of artificial intelligence in this device. Thanks to its NPU design with both high-core and low-core, the Kirin 990 unlocks the true potential of artificial intelligence.

Battery for your entire journey

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro also surprises users with its long-lasting battery. With a large capacity battery with high energy efficiency and EMUI power saving algorithms, the tablet can play 1080P videos locally for about 12 hours, surf the Internet generally for about 11.5 hours, or read email and edit documents for about 11 hours (data received from Huawei Laboratories).

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro will be available from April 2020 in selected markets such as Asia-Pacific, MEA, Russia, Japan and Latin America.
