As described in the update log, Mac computer users will be able to “increase the power of their computers through external graphics cards

Previously, to use this type of additional hardware, users had to install unofficial software or purchase the Apple GPU dev kit. The official support of graphics cards opens the doors to the development of new and better platforms based on virtual reality and video games, an area in which macOS is not as relevant as Windows. For typical use, the changes are irrelevant.
