The arrival of the new MacBook Pro 2018 models with 13-inch and 15-inch displays is taking the MacBook series a step further in terms of performance with chips up to 6 cores, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD drive. The responsiveness of these notebooks is largely due to the new and improved storage capacity inside their premium aluminum chassis.
MacBook Pro 2018 achieves write speeds of 2,682MB/s
The new MacBook Pro 2018 is tested for performance against other notebooks, and we can now guess which product took the crown.
Thanks to BlackMagic’s disk speed testing for macOS, MacBook Pro achieved an average write speed of 2,682 MB/s. These speeds are absolutely fantastic, which simply means that the applications installed on your laptop will boot faster than ever before, as well as your operating system.
The second fastest laptop in the benchmark was the Dell XPS 13 Powered by a Core i7 chip, but only achieved write speeds of 399.4 MB/s. This would mean that your laptop has a standard SSD that uses the SATA III interface instead of the standard PCIe NVMe offered by more expensive laptops.
The MacBook Pro 2018 range has at least one quad-core processor, so you can do content creation work on these products or any other demanding laptop task, so we’re not just talking about a better storage unit.
The 13-inch screen model currently sells for $1799 and comes with a 256GB capacity, which can be upgraded to 2TB.
