LG remains restless and continues to advance everything. That will show at the end of this week at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. And this time boasts of having the most massive 8K OLED TV on the market reaching 88 inches.
Naturally, this television comes as a mere demonstration of what it is capable of doing. Since the previous record had it established with an OLED panel of 77 inches but “limited” to a 4K resolution . and that is to speak of a resolution 8K a day Today is to be entirely optimistic. And more when 4K HDR TVs are not yet a trend because of its high price.
LG shows the first 8K OLED TV to reach 88 inches
This 8K OLED TV (7680 x 4320 pixels) of 88 inches is also a show of power against its great rival, Samsung Display. That changed its focus from OLED to QLED televisions. Also, presents a worse quality but seeks its similarity with the OLED word to monopolize the sales, and is that LG Display is now the only manufacturer of large OLED screens in the world.
That said, with potential competition from other countries such as Japan. Also, LG Display has invested heavily to ensure that it continues to maintain the advantage by increasing the production capacity of OLED panels. As well as to give a more significant boost to OLED panels for smartphones. That is a market dominated by Samsung. Part of this includes, for the first time, the construction of a new OLED plant outside of Korea, in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, no less, and this was recently approved by the government of South Korea.
The price of this monster? Well, we still do not know anything about it, nor about the rest of the specifications. Whether it will reach the consumer market or it will be just a demonstration prototype. But we can anticipate that doing so will not be available to everyone.
