Lenovo daystAR, Cava, SmartVest and Xiaole Sci-Fi additions to Augmented Reality

The great giant Lenovo showed some conceptual developments at its annual event Lenovo Tech World. So, the first one we have daystAR. That is a helmet for working with augmented reality.

As the developer notes, this is a stand-alone device that does not require a PC or a smartphone. That comes with an optical display and surface lenses with a viewing angle of 40 degrees.

Users will have the option to use Lenovo’s augmented reality platform that integrates services. Such as Cloud Object Recognition, remote support, multiplayer interaction, and 3D content management. So, with this device, you can even scan, load and edit 3D content across the platform. In addition, the daystAR viewer is next to the development platform which will allow the creation of applications for different industries. And in Lenovo’s words, it is the first device with such functionality.

There are no details about its technical specifications. But usually, vision processing unit, like the one that integrates the viewfinder, can offer features like recognition and analysis of elements or movements. Also, as we can see in the image below, daystAR is provided with different types of cameras and sensors that possibly allow positioning and mapping characteristics similar to those offered by Microsoft’s HoloLens.

SmartVest

SmartVest is a first smart vest. It is a T-shirt gadget for tracking cardiac activity. It has ten sensors that record an electrocardiogram for 24 hours a day in real time. The mobile application displays information about your health, including warnings of deviations from the average readings.
