The founder of inXile Entertainment Studio today confirmed that the future next-generation inXile RPG will run on Xbox X Series powered by Unreal Engine 5.
inXile RPG runs on Xbox Series X powered by Unreal Engine 5
The statement was made on Twitter in response to questions from some fans regarding the recent graphical demonstration for consoles using Unreal Engine 5, which was released last week. A new engine for a new generation of consoles.
However, the studio is currently putting the finishing touches on their current project Wastelands 3, so according to Brian Fargo they will not be concentrating all their efforts on inXile until completion:
“We are very happy to share more with you, even if you have to wait a little longer. At the moment we are focused on the completion of Wastelands 3 and the launch on August 28th. We will indeed use Unreal Engine 5 for our next project”.
As most of the major Microsoft studios use Unreal Engine for their next titles, the confirmation of the founder of inXile Entertainment was very well received. However, the official release of Unreal Engine 5 will not be until the end of 2021. And since the development is estimated to take seven years, fans will have to be patient as the studio’s next RPG project will probably not be released before 2022 or 2023.
