Intel Xe: the first models contain up to 512 cores

Intel is expected to launch its first dedicated graphics cards by 2020. We have just found some details on the cards that will appear in the latest version of the brand’s graphics drivers. Four cards were introduced: a low-power iDG1 (iDG1LPDEV), three higher-power iDG2 (iDG2HP128, iDG2HP256, iDG2HP512).

If Intel continues its previous denominations, the most powerful model will have five hundred and twelve execution units (US) comparable to NVIDIA CUDA cores or AMD flow processors. Comparing the numbers between manufacturers doesn’t make much sense: an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 had four hundred and eighty CUDA cores, but about the same performance as an ATI HD 6970, but with one thousand five hundred and sixty flow processors.

The same driver included a number of other twelfth-generation processors, but this time integrated into Intel CPUs:
