The event will focus on GPU technologies, with Raja Koduri and several senior officials attending. One of the goals is to provide initial information on what is being prepared. Intel normally plans to market a graphics processor known as Arctic Sound Code.

The meeting is scheduled for 2020

This will be the group’s third attempt in this area. In addition to focusing on the games market, Intel, like its competitors, plans to attack the AI and Machine Learning sectors.

Gaming graphics card, a long history at Intel

The first attempt of the giant was embodied by the i740 which appeared in 1998. Due to insufficient demand and poor performance, this solution was redesigned to fit into chipsets. The second meeting was the IDF 2009 with the presentation of the Larrabee architecture. The project was discontinued the following year.

This new Intel experiment is promising on paper because the project is in the hands of Koduri, a former AMD employee who worked on integrating HBM into GPUs and the LiquidVR project.
