In recent months, Intel has faced high demand for processors. Because they were unable to respond in a timely manner, a gap between demand and supply emerged, causing prices to rise sharply. These increases are reaching new heights, affecting the competitiveness of Intel processors.

The company has already intervened to assure its fans that solutions will be introduced to increase production.

Intel has activated all its facilities to increase production of its core and Xeon chips.

Celeron and Pentium Silver, Intel uses TSMC
In recent weeks, it has been reported that the company has approached third parties, including TSMC, in order to delegate the manufacture of some of its chips. This rumor now seems to be confirmed. TSMC will produce some “entry-level” solutions. The report refers to the SoC Atom, Celeron and Pentium Silver processors.

Note that DigiTimes does not explicitly name TSMC, but points out that this giant is now the only one that can meet Intel’s requirements.
