The Intel Rocket Lake S series will include three classic models: Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9. According to the report, Intel will not bring entry-level Core i3 and Pentium series processors to the market.

Although the processors will continue to use the 14nm process, they will feature a new core architecture: Sunny Cove or Willow Cove architecture, or a mixture of both, with an 8-core 16-threads design with integrated Xe graphics and an LGA1200 socket.

The report also states that Intel Rocket Lake S processors can exceed 5GHz in maximum frequencies, with Core i9 limited to 8-core 16-threads processors, Core i5, and Core i7 limited to 6-core 12-threads processors and 8-core 12-threads processors. In addition, Intel intends to make it a 10th generation core instead of an 11th generation core.

According to Videocardz, the Intel Rocket Lake S processor will be compatible with existing H410 boards. The Rocket Lake S processor previously only supported Z490 series motherboards and 500 series motherboards.

It is expected that the 500 series motherboards will support PCIe 4.0 (the Z490 motherboard is PCIe 4.0 compliant) and will offer a new Thunderbolt 4 interface.

The powerful Intel Tiger Lake H series Tiger mobile platform processors for up to 8 cores and 16 threads are based on a 10nm process and are reported to be the 12th Core Xe and 96 EU cores. To add even more: Intel Alder Lake-S is expected to arrive in Q3 2021.
