Intel NUC Cannon Lake with a Core i3 8121U @ 10nm and AMD Radeon RX 540

Showcasing the new Intel NUC Cannon Lake based on the Core i3 8121U processor based on 10nm in combination with an AMD Radeon RX 540,
Intel’s NUC systems have worked very well because they are high quality solutions in the smallest space. There are different versions and functions and soon the family will be extended. Intel is preparing the Cirmson Canyon, especially the NUC8i3CYSM. It features the implementation of a 10nm Core i3 processor with AMD Radeon discrete graphics. A solution that thinks of office automation, entertainment and the like.

Perhaps the most interesting thing is that it carries the Core i3 8121U processor Cannon Lake architecture, which has two cores and four threads. This processor operates at a base frequency of 2.2 GHz and can reach 3.2 GHz in boost mode. It is accompanied by AMD Radeon RX 540 graphics from 512 stream processors Polaris architecture and integrates 2GB GDDR5. The system comes with 8GB LPDDR4 @ 2666MHz in dual channel configuration. A 2.5″ HDD with a capacity of 1 TB was implemented for storage. Space was created for an M.2 2280 SSD with PCIe 3.0 x4 NVM3 interface.

This system also implements WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity as well as a Gigabit Ethernet port. An infrared sensor is also available for remote control. The rest of the connectivity is based on an SDXC card reader, four USB 3.1 ports, two HDMI 2.0b outputs, 7.1 sound output and headphone jack on the front. It has dimensions of 117x112x52mm.

On its performance, this system is not only excellent for office and entertainment, but can also move DiRT 3 in FullHD resolution with high graphics performance of 70 FPS. You can also move Battlefield 4 to 53FPS in FullHD with average graphics quality. Not bad at all. We don’t have any data on prices or on the day of arrival on the market.
