Intel has opened a new facility in North York, Toronto, Canada. This new lab will focus on developing the graphics technology and as you know, it will be the future of the company in the marketplace. If you wonder why they chose to do it in Canada, well, that’s normal, because the answer is very simple. North York is south of Markham, where ATI Technologies’ former headquarters was located and one of the regions with the most graphics experts.
Intel plans to launch its first graphics card in 2020, which will be just the first step for the company in this part of the market. The new North York office will accommodate dozens of engineers, but over time its capacity will continue to grow. Ari Rauch, Intel’s vice president of visual technologies and former president of AMD, said the region has long been at the crossroads of Intel, which is interested in attracting new graphics experts.
