Last year, Intel announced major breakthroughs and innovations from its GPU division for the coming years. The announcements featured the latest GPUs based on the Gen 11 architecture, scheduled for release in 2019, a new line of discrete cards that will be available by 2020. And today we have the first benchmarks for Intel’s Gen 11 graphics chip, which is set to revolutionize Intel’s integrated graphics on the go and on the desktop.
The first benchmarks come to light, and the Intel Iris Plus Graphics 940 with Gen11 architecture, integrated into an unknown processor, has a TDP of 15W, so it seems to be a chip for laptops, but lowers the AMD Radeon Vega 10 graphics with 640 stream processors found in the Ryzen 7 2700U.
Compared to AMD’s Ryzen processors with Vega graphics chips, the Gen 11 graphics offer some excellent results. Compared to the Ryzen 2700U with Vega 10 graphics, the chip is 63% faster with the same benchmark. One result shows an increase of 208% over the Vega 10 chip, while the ALU results show a less significant increase over the Vega 10 chip (640 SP).
UHD Graphics 620 (Gen9) vs Iris Plus Graphics 940 (Gen11)
|Tests||Type||Core i5-8250U with UHD Graphics 620||Intel 0000 with Iris Plus Graphics 940||Difference|
