Instagram restores GIFs to Stories

Instagram implemented the option of adding GIF animations in Stories mode some time ago. However, it was quickly removed after it had been discovered that a racist animation had passed through Giphy, the company responsible for the animation library. The Snapchat did the same. But now the GIFs are back on Instagram.

Instagram restores GIFs to Stories

Instagram very quickly turned off the option of adding GIFs after a racist animation came through Giphy to the audience. Currently, the function of adding short animations to Stories is returning. Giphy, of course, removed the racist GIF as soon as it was informed of its existence.
The company reported that it had conducted an investigation and that a racist animation had come to the public GIF library as a result of a specific error in the moderation filters. Now there is no more animation or mistake, so Instagram has restored the ability to add GIFs to its Stories mode. Giphy also states that the entire animation catalog has been reworked.

Instagram seems to be satisfied with these statements, and that’s why GIFs have appeared again in the application. Not everyone can see it back yet, but it will probably return in days for all users around the world. It’s also worth remembering that long switching times in these types of applications cause faster phone battery wear.
