HP’s new workstations include up to two 28-core Xeon

HP has renewed its series of workstations, offering its professional and business customers more power in the equipment. The series consists of three models (Z4, Z6, and Z8) with a great versatility in the configurations in which it will be able to buy. Although all Xeon processors accept, the Z8 stands alone because it includes a motherboard for dual Xeon processor.

The Z8 can include two 28-core Xeons, with up to 3TB of RAM in 24 memory banks, with up to 48TB of storage and up to three Quadro P6000 graphics cards, though it has seven PCIe x16 slots. The Z6 allows the installation of two 24-core Xeon, with 384 GB of memory and 22 TB of storage, with two Quadro P5000. The Z4 model is more modest in every way because it only allows an 18-core Xeon as compared to the others. That is with 256 GB of RAM and 22 TB of storage, with up to two Quadro P4000s.

28-core Processor

The processors arrive at the 28-core Xeon Platinum 8180, and part of the Xeon Bronze 3104 six-core. The chipset used in this equipment is the C622 or the C422 in the Z4. The Z8 also includes a power source up to 1700 W to power the entire material, and all three include an advanced cooling system to handle the temperatures that will reach the components inside. They have USB 3.1 connectors on the front, with Thunderbolt 3 and dual Ethernet port, and even more connectivity in the back, with integrated wifi and Bluetooth, multiple bays of 2.5, 3.5 and 5.25 inches.

The Z4 starts at $ 1239 and goes on sale in November. The Z6 will cost $ 1919, the Z8 will be $ 2439, and both go on sale in October.
