Huawei has initiated invitations to the Honor 8C award ceremony, which is scheduled for 11 October. In the meantime, the phone has been certified by TENAA, so we were able to take a look at its technical features.
The most exciting thing is that Honor 8C does not equip a SoC Kirin, but a SoC Qualcomm. Huawei usually implements this strategy for the lower end.
In particular, we are talking about the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, the same as the 7C model. On the RAM side, it’s positive to see that the current model’s 3GB memory capacity has increased to 4GB, while storage will be available in both the 32GB and 64GB versions.
On the photographic front, the Honor 8C can count on a dual-sensor configuration on the back wall (13+2 megapixels) and a front 8-megapixel photo sensor.
The Honor 8C has a larger battery than its two 3,900 mAh brothers. This is a significant increase of 900 mAh compared to 7C and 150 mAh of the larger 8X. Unfortunately, there is no support for quick charging (at least not with the charger in the box).
At the moment we don’t have any information about the price, but it is expected that Honor 8C will be available for 119 Euro. This would be a slightly lower price than the current model.
Brody Ji, Senior Product Director of the Huawei Consumer Business Group, revealed that the company does not intend to sell its Kirin processors to other brands.
