GTA 6 is a subject of numerous rumors and speculations. But now there may be information firsthand from the developer Rockstar Games.
GTA 6 – Job application published: release probably only for PS5 and Xbox Scarlett
The game company has posted a job application on Monster. Consequently, they are looking for an environmental artist. Some of the comments in this announcement might give us more information on GTA6.
Well, literally “GTA 6” is not mentioned, so it can only be assumed that this is the expected spectacle of the Open World. Specifically, the new employee is supposed to help “create environmental assets for the industry’s largest and best Open World environment. That clearly sounds like Rockstar is talking about the next Grand Theft Auto.
Will GTA 6 be a next-generation title?
Particularly interesting information can be found in the job posting about the launch of the game (assuming this means “GTA VI”). That’s how Rockstar writes:
“Join our team to create new-generation worlds.”
The meaning of “next-generation worlds” is not clearly defined, but there seems to be a connection to the next generation of consoles. In other words: Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett.
Consequently, “GTA 6” could be planned as a pure next-generation title, with the release for PS5 and Xbox Scarlett taking place. Some time ago there was already a leak that “GTA 6” was too big for the current generation of consoles and that the game only appeared for the following systems from Sony and Microsoft. So a later version of the PC is not excluded. These rumors are corroborated by this job announcement.
The Xbox Scarlett is going to appear in autumn 2020 in the trade. The PlayStation 5 should not take much longer. As soon as the publication of “GTA VI” is expected. Other rumors even say that Sony has obtained the rights for an exclusive version of “GTA VI” for the PS5.
