Google would integrate call recording and audio transcription into Android

This is a new feature hidden in the code of Google Phone 44 and may soon be available in the beta channel.

One of the most popular options for a group of key users is to record voice calls (with transcription). Although there are many apps in Android, both legitimate and non-legitimate, that allow this task, the truth is that due to the legal implications it is rather limited functionality that even Google has stopped.

In fact, the company has blocked the recording of calls from Android Pie, which has confused many of these apps that use the background and intervene in the call to record the sound of the caller. Now it seems that they are rethinking and preparing a new version of their phone application for Android with two very interesting features in this regard.

On the one hand, the company wants to integrate the voice recordings directly from the app, although it is not known whether this will end all calls or only those made via VoIP. Regardless of this, the developers have found lines of code that contain a message that is displayed before the recording starts: Google Phone 44 includes a disclaimer that is displayed before recording begins, alerting users that they may need permission from their partner to record legally.

To ensure that everyone knows when you’re recording or not recording, a voice is also played each time recording starts or stops.

In addition to this recording of voice calls, Google appears to have the ability to rewrite voice calls to text in the same phone application and as it integrates with its translator once the recording is complete. Details are rare at the moment, but Google has shown in the past how well its English audio transcription works.
