Thanks to Bluetooth technology, it is possible to enable connection with other devices, which would increase the amount of content that can be enjoyed. Because we could access games using a joystick or listen to videos with wireless headphones. The possibilities are many making use of this technology in Chromecast.
It would be a step forward for Google devices. The previous generation already had a Bluetooth chip. But due to various problems, especially bureaucratic, they were never fully activated. So this technology has never been used.
Luckily, it seems that the new generation, which does not yet have a specific launch date, will be able to use Bluetooth to the fullest. It is possible that this week during Google I/O 2018 more data on the new generation of Chromecast will be revealed. So we will be keeping an eye on this.
