Google has launched a new ad setup that will make it easier for users to control which data is taken into account for their personalized ads.
Google now lets you control your personalized ads
The user only has to go to this link and will see all the factors that are taken as a reference to guide the ads that then appear while browsing the web.
Some of the data is part of the information you provide when you register for Google services, and some are derived from your online activity. For example, if I search YouTube for makeup tutorials, Google will consider “Beauty and Health” a topic of interest, and therefore will be a key factor in the presentation of ads.
If you do not want Google to apply this dynamic, you can make some changes. For example, you can turn off ad customization. This does not mean that they will no longer see ads, but that they will no longer be personalized, but will be based on generic factors.
Or, if you want to disregard a particular factor or issue, you can turn it off individually, or manage it from My Activity. And on the other hand, Google has extended the function Why do I see this ad, as we see in the image:
This message will appear in all Google ads so that users understand why certain ads are displayed and can make the changes they want.
