Google didn’t want to wait until tomorrow when the Google I/O 2018 event will start and has just presented with the JBL Link Bar, a new model of sound bar that has the peculiarity of being a hybrid device.
Google and JBL present JBL Link Bar, sound bar with Google Wizard and Android TV
In this sense, in addition to being a sound bar for the living room, it also has the Google Assistant and Android TV integrated, trying to compete directly with Amazon and its Fire TV devices, also anticipating the new Fire TV devices that Amazon plans to launch, as has been filtered over the past few months.
Google points to JBL Link Bar as the first in a series of hybrid devices to feature Google Wizard and the full Android TV experience on a single device. At the moment we don’t know the price at which it will be on the market, we only know that this device will be on the market sometime this coming fall.
Users will be able to connect the JBL Link Bar to their TVs via HDMI and perform voice control to manage what they want to see on the TV screen, although JBL Link Bar can also work with the TVs turned off, becoming an audio centre for the living room where, among other things, they can perform voice searches or play the desired music track, among other things.
This device will be exhibited in Google I/O 2018, and it seems that it will not be the only one, since it is quite likely that Google will show us other surprises in this sense during this week, in addition to the rest of the contents it plans to present in the next few days.
