Google is developing the hardware for its game streaming service, according to sources

Earlier this year we learned that Google could find itself developing its own Internet gaming platform, similar to Sony’s PlayStation Now or Nvidia’s GeForce Now, without having passed on any more information about it beyond the fact that the code name used for this platform is Yeti.

Today we know something more from Kotaku, who has been able to know from some sources, that Google would be developing its own hardware for this platform. Google would like the hardware not to be an impediment when it comes to accessing the most demanding titles in terms of graphics experience.

In this respect, the type of hardware device it would be developing, which could be either a console or a Chromecast device, is still unknown, although it would, in any case, connect to the gaming platform and allow users to play more demanding games without having to invest in expensive hardware, for example, powerful graphics cards for their desktop computers, in addition to allowing the connection of different peripherals.

In addition to the hardware under development, Google representatives have been at the Game Developers Conference months ago to explore the potential interest that companies might have in their gaming platform.

All this is also added to the contracts that Google has been making in this respect, which strengthens the fact that Google is developing this platform, being in a better position given its global infrastructure to offer a quality service that does not suffer from technical problems that have suffered other initiatives.
