Google for iOS extends search functions to iMessage

The Google team announced an exciting update to the Google app for iOS, which adds new features to extend the search engine’s capabilities.

For example, this new version adds an extension for iMessage, which allows to perform any search and share the results directly with our friends and contacts.

The dynamic is simple, just open iMessage, go to the app drawer and choose Google. From there, you can search and share the content you want, gifs, videos, locations, cards, etc. And all this process without leaving iMessage.

Those who already have the app installed, do not need to perform any extra action. As it will be integrated automatically. A detail to keep in mind is that this extension is only available to US users, although they plan to extend it soon to other languages and countries.

On the other hand, is extending the experience that Google introduced last year when browsing a web page, expanding the dynamics to the browsers in IOS, including Safari. That offers the possibility to see suggestions of related content from a web page, selecting Search Google.

And as a bonus, those users who use the Google app from an iPad with iOS 11. That can drag and drop content to the app, or vice versa. For example, to share an image with your friends in iMessage.

All these options are already available in the latest version of the Google app for iOS.
