We already know that Google Drive has many features that make it easy to share files with other users. However, the dynamics of working with Microsoft Office files on the disk are different, which causes some problems when working together, e.g. version conflicts during editing.

To solve this problem, Drive adds a feature that leverages the potential of File Stream. Drive dynamically checks if someone else is editing the Office file (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) we are working on.

This can result in different types of feedback. For example, if other team members are editing the document, a message appears suggesting that we need to wait to avoid conflicts in the versions, as we see in the picture:

We will also be notified if a new version has been created or if conflicts have occurred because there are different versions. And when multiple versions have been created, Drive allows us to visualize each one to compare them and merge them into a single document.

A simple and practical dynamic that avoids many headaches and time pains and tries to solve the problems caused by processing. Remember that it is necessary to have File Stream for this feature to be available by following the steps described in this link.
