The Google team announced a number of changes to be implemented in Google Chrome related to messages displayed on HTTPS and HTTP websites.
So far, Google Chrome points out as safe a website with HTTPS with a padlock and a green message in the address bar. But this dynamic will change from September onwards.
Google is going to change its perspective: it will no longer warn users if a website is secure, but will warn them when they encounter a website that is not. So, starting with Chrome 69 we will find the change shown in the image:
On the other hand, websites that do not comply with the HTTPS protocol will display the “Not secure” warning. The warning will be greyed out in the address bar, but will change to red when users are prompted to enter data, as shown in the image:
This dynamic for HTTP pages will start to be applied from version 70 of Google Chrome, which will be launched in October this year.
So users will have to get used to the fact that Google Chrome will only display warning messages and remove the green tags.
