Google Chrome now allows you to transfer images from your card or the entire desktop to the external screens to which Chromecast is attached. However, this cannot be done with locally stored files. That will change soon because such a function is already available in the current browser beta.
Google Chrome allows you to stream local files to Chromecast
Google Chrome is a browser that has many exciting features. One of them is undoubtedly the possibility of sending the image from the card to Chromecast, which you will find in shops. In this way, you can also transfer pictures from the entire desktop. However, this option is not available for locally stored files.
François Beaufort, one of Chromium’s forefathers, said that some users already have access to the facility for uploading content from locally stored files to Chromium. It was made available to selected people who were using Chrome’s beta. For example, you can choose a movie file and then start streaming on another screen.
If you want to check the availability of the function at home, select the Transmit… option from the Google Chrome menu. Then expand the opportunities available in the new window and select the last entry. Then you only need to select an audio or video file.
Google Chrome has this feature for now in beta, but it should be available for everyone soon. However, there is no certainty that this will be the case with the release of the stable browser number 66, which may be later. In our Download section, you will find long-lasting versions of this program for Windows and MacOS.
