For consumers, since the launch of Siri in 2011 for the public. Voice-based digital assistant is becoming a novelty these days. Many industries believe that digital assistants will soon become one of the main way of interaction with the devices. Apple, Google, and Amazon are competing to provide their assistant services to more users day by day.

Gummi Hafsteinsson, Google’s assistant product director, says on Sunday “Our goal is to get Google help available for you anytime, anywhere”,  “with this update, hundreds of Android users will have the experience of Google Assistant. “

At the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held earlier this year, companies including Whirlpool and Ford also announces that they will use Amazon’s Alexa assistant in their own products. Which makes some analysts to think, Amazon is in the forefront of competition with Google’s digital assistants.

Competition with Alexa and Siri

Moreover, Android handset maker Huawei also announces that it will integrate Amazon’s Alexa service to its devices. Jan Dawson, an analyst at research firm Jackdaw Research says that Google paid the price for their decision. Before the opening of the partners, Google first introduces the Google assistant for their own products.

Bob O’Donnell, an analyst at research firm TECHanalysis Research says “Obviously, Google needs to push forward this effort quickly because the future fight is not on the operating system, but its on the assistant platform.”

In the Android ecosystem, Google Assistant will not have a role of default assistant for all devices. So Samsung Electronics, the largest Android handset maker announces to plans the launch of its own digital assistant. Other Android companies are also developing digital assistant technology.

Dawson says about voice assistants “Some large manufacturers are deciding to develop autonomous digital assistants”, “but many manufacturers are unable to develop this technology independently.”
