The Gigabyte motherboard manufacturer has announced its new AM4 motherboard: the B450I Aorus Pro WiFi motherboard in Mini-ITX format. Let’s get to know them.
B450I Aorus Pro WiFi, Midrange Mini ITX Motherboard
The new board uses the B450 chipset and AM4 socket to support 1st and 2nd generation Ryzen processors, including the APU 2200G and 2400G. It will also support new Ryzen through BIOS updates in the future.
This board has 6 performance phases in a 4+2 configuration, with a power dissipation that does not seem very advanced, but could be sufficient for this configuration.
WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity are remarkable and very positive for some users, while those using Ethernet have a Gigabit port supported by an Intel network card. Other aspects of connectivity include 4 SATA ports, 2 USB 3.1 Gen2 (Type A), 4 USB 3.1 Gen1, and Audio and DisplayPort 1.2 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports for users installing a Ryzen APU.
The board has a single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, which allows the installation of any graphics card up to the high-end, and an M.2 slot with the metal heat sink, which is very good news.
In the end, we talked about the expected recording of only 2 DIMM slots and not 4, for space reasons. We take this opportunity to point out that you should use both slots with two channels, even if you are planning future updates. This is especially true for APUs, as they have a great influence on the performance of integrated graphs.
Any Mini-ITX motherboard that comes on the market is very welcome, as there is often little variety in this format and the emergence of new players promotes positive competition for all. In this case, a fairly decent mid-range option seems to be available.
We don’t know the availability and price of this motherboard, but let’s hope it’s something narrow.
