Gigabyte, the world’s leading provider of high-performance PC hardware, enters the fast-growing SSD storage market with the new Gigabyte UD PRO models, available in 256GB and 512GB capacities.
Gigabyte UD PRO is the first SSDs of the brand, all the features
Gigabyte UD PRO is a new SSD coming to market, to offer a new alternative to users who want to benefit from this type of storage. This SSD is based on a 2.5-inch format and a 6GB/s SATA III interface, ensuring maximum compatibility with all computers, while offering a much faster speed than a traditional mechanical hard drive.
Gigabyte has decided to opt for the TLC NAND 3D memory, which has a lower production cost than the MLC, something that will allow it to offer a lower final sale price while obtaining the same performance and great resistance to writing cycles. This memory is accompanied by a DDR3 cache for maximum performance.
Thanks to these features, the Gigabyte UD PRO is able to achieve a performance level that is almost at the limit of the SATA III 6 GB/s interface, specifically offering sequential read and write speeds of 530 MB/s and 500 MB/s. Its performance in 4K random operations reaches 80,000 IOPS in reading and 75,000 IOPS in writing.
This new SSD is TRIM-compatible so that free blocks are always available for maximum performance. Finally, they offer a three-year warranty and a 100TB resistance of data written on the 256GB model and 200TB on the 512GB model. Sales prices have not been announced.
