Gigabyte UD A620I-AX First Mini-ITX motherboard in its class

Gigabyte is the first manufacturer to release a A620 Mini-ITX motherboard, the UD A620I-AX. The Mini-ITX form factor is typically used in compact computers.

The A620 motherboards were released relatively recently, but there were no options for compact computers with Mini-ITX motherboard support. Gigabyte wants to solve this with the release of the UD A620I-AX model.

AMD’s A620 chipset is used for low-end AM5 motherboards, something that many PC users were waiting for in order to have cheaper options to make the jump to Ryzen 7000, which brings with it support for DDR5 memories. We do not mention PCIe 5.0, as this chipset does not offer this support, as it is limited to PCIe 4.0.

The Gigabyte UD A620I-AX motherboard is supporting two DDR5 memory modules and a PCIe Gen4 x16 graphics card. The motherboard also supports two SATA ports, features WiFi-AX and Ethernet port. In addition, it is featuring a single M.2 NVMe slot with heatsink.

The board has two SATA ports and requires 24+8 pin power connectors to operate. This motherboard has integrated WiFi-AX and an Ethernet port, which could actually be 2.5 GbE. There is also an NVMe M.2 slot with heatsink.

Despite being a compact motherboard, the specifications and construction look like a ‘premium’ Gigabyte product, as the entire VRM stage features its heatsink block, in addition to the M2 slot. However, only two SATA ports may not be enough for some users.

This is not an official announcement, at the moment, so we will have to wait until it is made official by Gigabyte. The price should be around $100 when it goes on sale. We will keep you posted.
