Gigabyte dismisses NVIDIA RTX 2070 Ti by saying it is a typographical mistake

Nvidia may not like it, but Gigabyte has just sold the GeForce RTX 2070 Ti fuse. Later on, it reversed the decision and explained that it was just a typo. We recently confirmed the possible introduction of a new NVIDIA graphics card, the GeForce RTX 2070 Ti. This rumor speculated on an intermediate graphics card between the RTX 2070 and the RTX 2080, as between these two models there is room for one of these cards, but it was just rejected by Gigabyte. All this chaos seems to come from a Gigabyte publication based on a Halloween promotion.

The information was found in the giant’s advertisement. It suggests a promotional offer as Holloween approaches. From 17 October to 15 November Gigabyte is offering a limited edition AORUS T-shirt for the purchase of an Aorus GeForce RTX 2070 or Aorus GeForce RTX 2070 Ti graphics card.

Gigabyte denies the RTX 2070 Ti and that everything was a mistake

It was quickly speculated that NVIDIA’s new solution would be based on TU104 silicon rather than TU106 silicon, which breathes life into the current RTX 2070. Speculation has even led some to think about many possibilities as a mistake.

Unfortunately, we have no further information, especially about the hardware of the card. If it is available, it logically provides power between the RTX 2070 and the RTX 2080 at a price of $650. Like the Ti version of the GTX 1070, this GeForce RTX 2070 Ti could also contain a “castrated” version of the TU104 of the RTX 2080.

Gigabyte confirms that it was all a typographical error. The company also states that the offer ends on November 15th and that it would be impossible for the AORUS RTX 2070 Ti graphics cards to enter the market, as NVIDIA will initially launch the Founders Edition models and approximately two weeks later NVIDIA itself will allow the launch of custom models.
