New rival of Raspberrypi, Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3450. Almost a year ago Gigabyte unveiled its GA-SBCAP3350, a board to compete with the Raspberry Pi and the rest of the similar specifications but with better-performing alternatives. This Gigabyte approach lacked in built-in RAM but offered users many other expansion options. Now, Gigabyte has announced a new release under the name GA-SBCAP3450 that improves the features.
Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3450, a new ultra-compact plate with great features
The new Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3450 includes an Intel Celeron N3450 quad-core processor that runs at up to 2.2 GHz. This processor can be accompanied by a single channel SO-DIMM DDR3L memory module.
It also has a Mini-PCIe slot for medium length WIFI card support, a Mini-PCIe dual-purpose slot for mSATA SSD, a Dual GbE LAN interface with ESD WOL and PXE protection support, LVDS header signal for compatibility with system-integrated flat panel displays and of course there is an Ultra Durable technology with 2x copper PCB design. This motherboard is based on an SBC form factor of 146 x 102mm and works with a DC 9 ~ 36V adapter.
The main change is the move to a passively cooled Intel Celeron N3450 processor that runs 200MHz slower compared to last year’s N3350, although this year’s model doubles its number of two- to four-core cores while maintaining its 6W TDP.
The price for the Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3450 has not yet been officially announced but, given the close relationship between its specifications and last year’s model, it should not deviate too much from the 185 €. How about this new Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3450?
