The Z390 motherboards are coming to the market as a complement to the ninth generation of Intel processors. One of the many proposals already announced for this platform is the GALAXY Z390 Gamer, which has a rather “special” design.
Over the years, products developed for players have acquired a number of new features. These are not necessarily in terms of functionality, but in terms of aesthetics. These include RGB LEDs and often edgy designs.
Galaxy’s latest Z390 gamer motherboard takes these aesthetic references a little further. From PCOnline’s point of view, the base plate is grey with orange accents. The Z390 Gamer motherboard also features RGB LEDs in the audio subsystem, DIMM slots, and the IO chassis. All PCBs are black and the PCI-e slots are white.
It’s not like it lacks features. Just remove the ugly covers and you’ll see that this is a very powerful base plate. There are built-in switches, an 80-port debug LED and additional 4-pin CPU power for overclocking. It’s also good to see that the VRM has a heat sink.
There are also three M.2 slots, and all three have integrated thermal protection. The higher one has a thermal screen integrated into the audio subsystem cover. All PCIe x16 slots also have amplifiers and are even equipped with 2×2 802.11ac WiFi with their own antenna disc. So the only bad thing here is its design and not its features.
