In Galax and KFA2 it seems that they have thought that external GPUs are fashionable. And instead of launching an outer box as usually compatible with current models of their graphics cards. They have decided to start an outside GTX 1060 with everything necessary all ready to connect and operate directly.
Galax and KFA2 launch an external GTX 1060
The new unit Galax / KFA2 SNPR offers users of laptops with Thunderbolt 3 port the possibility of adding this external GPU. That can bring some more life to all those who do not have a dedicated GPU.
As we can see in the image provided by the unit completely disassembled. Also, it is a customized ITX version of a GTX 1060 6GB. That has been added a heatsink specially designed to be inside that chassis, and finally. Also, It has endowed it with external power, so we must add another element to the set.
Regarding frequencies, far from having been satisfied with the reference ones. So, we have opted for some with the factory overclock of Base 1531MHz and Boost 1746MHz, together with the usual 6GB GDDR5 at 8Gbps.
For now, the release date of this SNPR unit has not been revealed. Also, nor has it been announced if in the future more powerful models will be launched with GTX 1070, GTX 1070 Ti or GTX 1080.
