You may be surprised by this news, but Google is developing a new operating system that the company has not given more details, it is Fuchsia and was initially discovered. So, thanks to a code released in a repository on GitHub. That can give you a hint of the innovation of the Google project based on OpenSource.
Fuchsia features?
Although Android and Chrome OS are currently the operating systems recognized by the brand, many claims that Fuchsia would come to replace Android in the not too distant future. And we can already see a “Beta” version of this OS running on a PixelBook.
That is thanks to Ron Amadeo, editor of Ars Technica, who managed to run this OS from a pixel book as a test device and decided to share his work.
Fuchsia was previously tested but on a “hacked” version of Android. This time is different since Amadeo managed to install Fuchsia as an operating system directly in the Hardware, which is, as the primary operating system in a computer, in this case, the PixelBook.
Although this version looks quite functional. Also, it is only a kind of demo where you can not access all your App. And you can just enter as “Guest” since the Login and Wifi options are inactive. But we certainly have an idea clear at the conceptual level of how this operational operating system would be.
Since Fuchsia is designed to work on both PC and portable devices. Also, there is the option to run it in “portable” or “phone” mode. Things like the brightness sliders and the airplane mode switches are there. But they do not work, and Ron could not make Wi-Fi work.
There is also a lot of work to be done with the Fuchsia interface. And for now, applications can only come through searches, and there are no application icons. Even so, the operating system works great if we take into account that it has only two years of development.
