First teaser for the Virtual Reality Manga game Tokyo Chronos

Last month a small UFO appeared on Kickstarter. Under the name Tokyo Chronos, the virtual reality manga game project has just been equipped with its first trailer. A video to watch.

Over $90,000, the sum collected by the Japanese virtual reality studio “MyDearest” and the Sekai project in Los Angeles. A sum that surpasses the original goal ($75,000) and allows the Tokyo Chronos game to see the light of day.

Tokyo Chronos: a visual novel in VR

This surprising project was launched at the beginning of July. So the idea is that of a visual novel in virtual reality, intended for several VR helmets (Playstation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive). This narrative adventure game is produced by Kazuma Miki (the Sword Art Online Series), written by Haruki Kashiwakura (the film Expelled from Paradise) and Kou Segawa (for Konya, Kimi ni Korosareta to shitemo). On the program is a group of eight friends from childhood who plunge into a world in which time does not progress.

A game that will surely inspire fans of Japanese culture and manga. Subtitles are provided in English. No other language is on the agenda, at least for the moment. If you have supported this project, you have to be patient before you can fully discover it. The publication is promised for February 2019. Provided, of course, that there are no delays. It’s not the first time comics or manga have tried virtual reality. As early as 2016, the comic Magnetique made a remarkable entry into virtual reality.
