Hubs, First major update of Hubs by Mozilla, Optocrypto

At the end of April, Mozilla published a Web VR-based social experience that enables direct access to VR content via a web browser. And since then, virtual reality goggle users can easily set up a private virtual meeting room and invite their friends to the Hubs website.

Mozilla has just released the first major update of its hubs. Now we can import various types of files into our rooms, such as images, videos and 3D models available on our websites, as well as PDF files, and content from Imgur, Giphy, YouTube, Sketchfab, and Poly. You can transfer them directly from your phone or computer. Mozilla promises to gradually add more types of supported files and content.

The difference between hubs and other social VR applications is that there is no need to create an account or install software on the hard drive to use it. Simply go to the page, enter the name of the room and nickname, then select one of the available avatars from the list and select how to use the chat (VR glasses or monitor). Then a unique link will be generated, that we need to provide to those who want to join us.

The VR-Chat works with all common headsets on the market. However, Mozilla points out that Hubs is currently at a very early stage of development.
