MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC with new features compared to the X370

Let’s start with the changes from the X370. Apart from the design change and the much more beautiful covers, the X470 version has heatsinks on the VRM for better temperature control. Power is supplied via two 8-pin EPS connectors (the X370 had only one).

The X470 Carbon Pro AC lost a PCIe x1 slot with this new model but gained two additional SATA ports (there are eight total). There are still two M.2 slots, but the main one is covered with a new version of M.2 Shield, which is much longer than on the X370, so it should provide better heat dissipation.

That is not the best model for the MSI X470 platform. The sources say that a GAMING M7 model is also being manufactured. Gaming Pro lacks some of the features that other brands have in this price segment, such as the debug LED or even the power and reset buttons.

X470 Gaming Pro Carbon is an exciting update to X370, especially in the VRM section. MSI knows that black and silver designs are the most popular among PC builders and LEDs can be disabled if anyone wants to.

For the moment we do not know the price it will have for the sale.
