Firefox tests two new features: custom colors and merging two tabs into one

The Mozilla Foundation has introduced two new experimental extensions for users to test two possible features to be integrated into Firefox as standard in the future.

In this regard, it should be noted that the experimental extensions are available under the Test Pilot program to enable users to try out new possible features, although so far three of the sixteen tested features have finally reached Firefox: Activity Stream, Containers and Screenshots.

The new experimental extensions are Firefox Color and Side View. With Firefox Color, users will be able to customize the color of a number of browser elements, including background, text, icons, toolbars, and highlighted items, seeing results in real time as they are making changes.

They will be able to set their preferred color schemes and save or even share them with other users, but they will also be able to choose from default color schemes (or default themes) if they don’t want to complicate their lives with customizations.

And with Side View, you can have the content of two tabs within one tab and browser window. This will allow you to make a series of comparisons, either of prices for different items and services, or even to compare the same news offered between two different sources, among many other possibilities, thus avoiding having to switch between two different tabs.

These two experimental extensions are now available for download and installation in Firefox.
