The scandals surrounding data privacy on Facebook have prompted changes to be made to the services of third parties who use such data to offer features of various kinds.
Facebook and Instagram limit access to Hootsuite
Some of the most affected are the great hootsuite, a platform used by millions of people and companies to manage their social networks, both by publishing and reading the content published by others. They report that Facebook is changing the way members access data to keep users’ information safe and secure, and some of these changes are affecting the functionality of Hootsuite in different ways.
- Among the list of functions that will be affected by changes to the Facebook API and Instagram indicate:
- Information displayed about Facebook groups and events
- Knowledge and sending of private Facebook messages and Instagram comments.
- A possibility of publishing in Facebook groups.
- Search for Facebook pages and Instagram users when making mentions in publications.
- Include “like” in Instagram publications.
- Comment on Instagram publications.
There are only a few of the features that may be affected, although the list may continue to grow. On the other hand, the negotiation between Hootsuite and Facebook is constant, so it is possible that some of the issues will be resolved soon.
Luckily it is still possible to publish and schedule publications in Instagram from Hootsuite, a recent gift that we can still enjoy for now.
