There is some hope among consumers that the foldable device. And for that Microsoft applied for a patent could be the rumored Surface Phone.
An engineer from Microsoft China confirms that Surface Phone is real
Yesterday, a Microsoft engineer could have accidentally revealed the news that the Surface Phone is real. And that will arrive in the not too distant future. In a question and answer site in China called Zhihu, someone wrote to complain about the poor integration of Cortana in Android.
The Microsoft engineer, writing under Cortana’s support account of the Microsoft Asia Research Institute. That blamed for the lack of operating system permissions. As the reason why Microsoft’s virtual personal assistant does not work as well on Android.
He added that he was looking forward to seeing Cortana working correctly on the Surface Phone. Later, the engineer edited the comment to add in parentheses that he is not sure there is a Surface Phone.
First of all, Siri and Bixby are two intelligent assistants pre-installed on smartphones. While Cortana is a third-party application, so permissions turn out to be somewhat problematic.
Windows Phone users know that Cortana on Windows Phone was better than appCortana, on Windows Phone Cortana was much easier to use. Microsoft Cortana (Xiao Na) is a cross-platform intelligent assistant, available on all devices, including PCs and smartphones. That tries to be something like WeChat Noda.
For an intelligent assistant, the permissions are a good thing. So I expect a perfect performance on the Surface Phone (although I do not know if there will be a Surface Phone). Of course, as an intelligent assistant, the pace of development is still relatively slow. But Cortana’s team will work hard for the assistant to improve.
Considering that the response on the Chinese website came from an account owned by Microsoft. Also, this could be a legitimate signal that the Surface Phone exists.
It is believed that the device, under the code name Andromeda, will be able to fold from a tablet size to a smartphone size with two screens. Also, it will include software to allow users to take notes through the two filters placed in parallel as if writing in a plain paper notebook.
