Which at first look seems like a natural evolution of its previous model Z170 Lightsaber that was launched about a year ago. And just like as the previous model, the manufacturer intends to introduce this product full of components. That can make it more attractive for potential buyers.

ECS Z270 Lightsaber New Motherboard Detailed Specifications

To begin with the specifications details, the new ECS Z270 Lightsaber motherboard draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and EPS + 12V 8-pin power connectors. So transforming it for use by the processor with a 14-phase VRM. The socket is connected to four RAM slots supporting the DDR4 standard, supporting up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory (up to four 16GB modules each). As well as two third-generation x16 PCIe slots (x8 / x8 With both occupied). The third PCIe x16 slot is electrically wired as an x4 and wired to the PCH of the Z270 chipset. So there are four PCIe x1 slots that also belongs to the third generation.

Storage connectivity includes six 6 Gb/s SATA ports, one 32 Gb/s M2 slot. And one 32 Gb/s U.2 port with NVMe boot and Intel Optane support. USB connectivity includes two 10 Gb/s USB ports, both type A. And also there are eight 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 ports (six on the back panel and two headers).

The integrated audio solution includes a 115 dBA SNR CODEC seated on its own elevated PCB, plus insulation of the ground layer for the audio circuit that includes a replaceable TI NE5532AP OPAMP and audio capacitors. The Gigabit Ethernet connection is powered by the Killer E2500 controller. The ECS Z270 Lightsaber also offers standard headers for RGB LEDs on two zones. The board also has dual BIOS with manual switching between two EEPROMs.

ECS has not disclosed the price of this motherboard model, nor the time when it will start marketing the motherboard.
