The iPhone XS Max camera received a score of 105 in the DxOMark test, four points lower than the smartphone score of the Chinese competitor. For the test, DxO engineers took more than 1,500 photos with the iPhone XS Max camera and more than two hours of video in every lighting situation and environment imaginable with factory default settings.

The zoom function, however, is still considered worthy of improvement by DxO testers: “If we had to select an aspect of the camera that could be improved, it would be the zoom performance,” concludes the DxOMark report. “Although the zoom has improved slightly compared to last year’s iPhone X, the images on the iPhone XS Max Zoom show bright noise and less detail than some high-end competitors such as the Huawei P20 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Grade 9. However, there were no changes in the DxOMark Mobile Ranking. Apple must be satisfied with second place, and the honorable first still belongs to Huawei.

The iPhone Xs Max appeared in the DxOMark ranking. It was published a few weeks after the official premiere. The smartphone was ranked second in the ranking. However, it could not beat the previous leader Huawei P20 Pro. The new Apple model received a rating of 105 points.

The specialists from DxO gave a partial score of 110 points in the case of the ability to take photos. The number of points for filming was 96. It was praised for its fast autofocus, its precise details on the photos, its good color rendering, and its correct dynamic range.

So the iPhone Xs Max has a good camera, but the truth is that the Huawei P20 Pro has a better camera.
